ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതു പണ്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഉണ്ടാകുവാനുള്ളതും മുമ്പു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതു തന്നേ; കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയതിനെ ദൈവം വീണ്ടും അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

- 17ഞാൻ എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ: ദൈവം നീതിമാനെയും ദുഷ്ടനെയും ന്യായം വിധിക്കും; സകലകാര്യത്തിന്നും സകലപ്രവൃത്തിക്കും ഒരു കാലം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
