- 5അങ്ങനെ ശിംശോനും അവന്റെ അപ്പനും അമ്മയും തിമ്നയിലേക്കു പോയി തിമ്നെക്കരികെയുള്ള മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഒരു ബാലസിംഹം അവന്റെ നേരെ അലറിവന്നു.
- 6അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു അവന്റെമേൽ വന്നു; കയ്യിൽ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ അവൻ അതിനെ ഒരു ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെപ്പോലെ കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു; താൻ ചെയ്തതു അപ്പനോടും അമ്മയോടും പറഞ്ഞില്ല.

- 8കുറെക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ അവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിപ്പാൻ തിരികെ പോകയിൽ സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടൽ നോക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മാറിച്ചെന്നു; സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടലിന്നകത്തു ഒരു തേനീച്ചക്കൂട്ടവും തേനും കണ്ടു.
- 9അതു അവൻ കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തു തിന്നുംകൊണ്ടു നടന്നു, അപ്പന്റെയും അമ്മയുടെയും അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവർക്കും കൊടുത്തു അവരും തിന്നു; എന്നാൽ തേൻ ഒരു സിംഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടലിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തു എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞില്ല.
