And the children of Israel said, Who [is there] among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.

3. 5പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ: എല്ലായിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളിലും യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ സഭെക്കു വരാതെ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. മിസ്പയിൽ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരാത്തവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം എന്നു അവർ ഒരു ഉഗ്രശപഥം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
4. 6എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരായ ബെന്യാമീന്യരെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചു: ഇന്നു യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ഗോത്രം അറ്റുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
5. 7ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നമ്മുടെ പുത്രിമാരെ ഭാര്യമാരായി കൊടുക്കരുതു എന്നു നാം യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യംചെയ്തിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു ഭാര്യമാരെ കിട്ടുവാൻ നാം എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
