രണ്ടു പടകു കരെക്കു അടുത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു; അവയിൽ നിന്നു മീൻപിടിക്കാർ ഇറങ്ങി വല കഴുകുകയായിരുന്നു.

1അവൻ ഗന്നേസരെത്ത് തടാകത്തിന്റെ കരയിൽ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം ദൈവവചനം കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ തിക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയിൽ
2രണ്ടു പടകു കരെക്കു അടുത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടു; അവയിൽ നിന്നു മീൻപിടിക്കാർ ഇറങ്ങി വല കഴുകുകയായിരുന്നു.
3ആ പടകുകളിൽ ശിമോന്നുള്ളതായ ഒന്നിൽ അവൻ കയറി കരയിൽ നിന്നു അല്പം നീക്കേണം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പടകിൽ ഇരുന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
4സംസാരിച്ചു തീർന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ ശിമോനോടു:ആഴത്തിലേക്കു നീക്കി മീൻപിടിത്തത്തിന്നു വല ഇറക്കുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
