1. 14గాదీయులగు వీరు సైన్యమునకు అధిపతులై యుండిరి; వారిలో అత్యల్పుడైనవాడు నూరుమందికి అధిపతి, అత్య ధికుడైనవాడు వెయ్యిమందికి అధిపతి,
2. 15యొర్దాను గట్టులమీదుగా పొర్లి పారుచుండు మొదటి నెలయందు దానిని దాటిపోయి తూర్పులోయలలోను పడమటిలోయలలోను ఉన్న వారినందరిని తరిమివేసినవారు వీరే.
3. 16మరియు బెన్యామీనీయులలో కొందరును యూదావారిలో కొందరును దావీదు దాగియున్న స్థలమునకు వచ్చిరి.
4. 17దావీదు బయలుదేరి వారికి ఎదురుగా పోయి వారితో ఇట్లనెనుమీరు సమాధానము కలిగి నాకు సహాయముచేయుటకై నాయొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నయెడల నా హృదయము మీతో అతికియుండును; అట్లుగాక నా వలన మీకు అపకారమేదియు కలుగలేదని యెరిగి యుండియు, నన్ను నా శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని మీరు వచ్చియున్నయెడల మన పితరులయొక్క దేవుడు దీనిని చూచి మిమ్మును గద్దించును గాక.
5. 18అప్పుడు ముప్పదిమందికి అధిపతియైన అమాశై ఆత్మవశుడైదావీదూ, మేము నీవారము; యెష్షయి కుమారుడా, మేము నీ పక్షమున ఉన్నాము; నీకు సమాధానము కలుగునుగాక, సమా ధానము కలుగునుగాక, నీ సహకారులకును సమాధానము కలుగునుగాక, నీ దేవుడే నీకు సహాయము చేయునని పలు కగా దావీదు వారిని చేర్చుకొని వారిని తన దండునకు అధిపతులుగా చేసెను.
