And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they [be:] but, my lord the king, [are] they not all my lord’s servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

4. 4అయినను యోవాబు మాట చెల్లక రాజు మాటయే చెల్లెను గనుక యోవాబు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశమందంతట సంచరించి తిరిగి యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి జనుల సంఖ్య వెరసి దావీదునకు అప్పగించెను.
5. 5ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిలో కత్తి దూయువారు పదకొండు లక్షల మందియు యూదా వారిలో కత్తి దూయువారు నాలుగు లక్షల డెబ్బదివేల మందియు సంఖ్యకు వచ్చిరి.
