2. 15దావీదు ఎదోము దేశముమీద యుద్ధము చేయుచుండగా, సైన్యాధిపతియైన యోవాబు చంపబడిన వారిని పాతిపెట్టుటకు వెళ్లి యున్నప్పుడు ఎదోము దేశమందున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేసెను.
3. 16ఎదోములో నున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేయువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరితో కూడ యోవాబు ఆరు నెలలు అచ్చట నిలిచెను.
4. 17అంతట హదదును అతనితోకూడ అతని తండ్రి సేవకులలో కొందరు ఎదోమీయులును ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనికి పారిపోయిరి; హదదు అప్పుడు చిన్న వాడై యుండెను.
5. 18వారు మిద్యాను దేశములోనుండి బయలుదేరి పారాను దేశమునకు వచ్చి, పారాను దేశమునుండి కొందరిని తోడుకొని ఐగుప్తులోనికి ఐగుప్తురాజగు ఫరోనొద్దకు రాగా, ఈ రాజు అతనికి ఇల్లును భూమియు ఇచ్చి ఆహారము నిర్ణయించెను.
