- 14అయితే దావీదు అరణ్యములోని కొండస్థలముల యందును, జీఫు అను అరణ్యమున ఒక పర్వతమందును నివాసము చేయుచుండెను; సౌలు అనుదినము అతని వెదకినను దేవుడు సౌలుచేతికి అతని నప్పగించలేదు.

- 16అప్పుడు సౌలు కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను లేచి, వనము లోనున్న దావీదునొద్దకు వచ్చినా తండ్రియైన సౌలు నిన్ను పట్టుకొనజాలడు, నీవు భయపడవద్దు,
- 17నీవు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు రాజ వగుదువు, నేను నీకు సహకారినౌదును, ఇది నా తండ్రి యైన సౌలునకు తెలిసియున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పి దేవునిబట్టి అతని బలపరచెను.
