తన యేలుబడి యందు ఎనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమున తానింకను బాలుడై యుండగానే అతడు తన పితరుడైన దావీదుయొక్క దేవునియొద్ద విచారించుటకు పూనుకొనినవాడై, పండ్రెండవయేట ఉన్నతస్థలములను దేవతాస్తంభములను పడగొట్టి, చెక్కిన విగ్రహములను పోతవిగ్రహములను తీసివేసి, యూదాదేశమును యెరూషలేమును పవిత్రముచేయ నారంభించెను.

5బయలుదేవత యాజకుల శల్యములను బలిపీఠములమీద అతడు కాల్పించి, యూదాదేశమును యెరూషలేమును పవిత్రపరచెను.
