ఆహాజు ఏలనారంభించి నప్పుడు ఇరువది యేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమునందు పదు నారు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను. తన పితరుడగు దావీదు తన దేవుడైన యెహోవా దృష్టికి నీతిగా ప్రవర్తించినట్లు అతడు ప్రవర్తింపక ఇశ్రాయేలురాజులు ప్రవర్తించినట్లు ప్రవర్తించెను.

King James Version (KJV): Twenty years old [was] Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.
