రాజు రాత్రియందు లేచి తన సేవకులను పిలిచిసిరియనులు మనకు చేసినదానిని నేను మీకు చూపింతును; మనము ఆకలితోనున్న సంగతి వారికి తెలిసియున్నది గనుకవారు పట్టణములోనుండి బయటకు వచ్చినయెడల మనము వారిని సజీవులనుగా పట్టు కొని పట్టణమందు ప్రవేశింపగలమని యోచనచేసి, పేట విడిచి పొలములోనికి పోయి పొంచియున్నారని వారితో అనెను.

- 13అప్పుడు అతని సేవకులలో ఒకడు ఈలాగు మన విచేసెనుఇంతకుముందు ఇశ్రాయేలువారలలో బహు మంది మనుష్యులు లయమై పోయిరి గదా ఇక అయిదుగురు లయమై పోవుట అబ్బురమా? నీకు అనుకూలమైన యెడల పట్టణమందు మిగిలియున్న రౌతులలొ అయిదు గురిని తీసికొని పోనిమ్ము; మనము వారిని పంపి చూచెదమని చెప్పెను.
- 14వారు జోడు రథములను వాటి గుఱ్ఱములను తీసికొనగాసిరియనుల సైన్యమువెనుక పోయి చూచి రండని రాజు వారికి సెలవిచ్చి పంపెను.
