మీ యజమానుడగు సౌలు మృతినొందెను గాని యూదావారు నాకు తమమీద రాజుగా పట్టాభిషేకము చేసియున్నారు గనుక మీరు ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని బలాఢ్యులై యుండుడని ఆజ్ఞనిచ్చెను.

- 8నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరు అను సౌలుయొక్క సైన్యాధిపతి సౌలు కుమారుడగు ఇష్బోషెతును మహ నయీమునకు తోడుకొని పోయి,
- 9గిలాదువారిమీదను ఆషేరీయులమీదను యెజ్రెయేలుమీదను ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులమీదను బెన్యామీనీయులమీదను ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీదను రాజుగా అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసెను.
