సాయంకాలమందు యాకోబు పొలము నుండి వచ్చునప్పుడు లేయా అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయి - నీవు నా యొద్దకు రావలెను, నా కుమారుని పుత్రదాతవృక్షపు పండ్లతో నిన్ను కొంటినని చెప్పెను. కాబట్టి అతడు ఆ రాత్రి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

King James Version (KJV): And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

18లేయా నేను నా పెనిమిటికి నా దాసి నిచ్చినందున దేవుడు నాకు ప్రతిఫలము దయచేసెననుకొని అతనికి ఇశ్శాఖారు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.
