13అయితే తమ సహోదరియైన దీనాను అతడు చెరిపినందున యాకోబు కుమారులు షెకెముతోను అతని తండ్రియైన హమోరుతోను కపటముగా ఉత్తరమిచ్చి అనినదేమనగా
14మేము ఈ కార్యము చేయలేము, సున్నతి చేయించు కొననివానికి మా సహోదరిని ఇయ్యలేము, అది మాకు అవమానమగును.
15మీలో ప్రతి పురుషుడు సున్నతి పొంది మా వలె నుండిన యెడల సరి;
16ఆ పక్షమందు మీ మాట కొప్పుకొని, మా పిల్లలను మీకిచ్చి మీ పిల్లలను మేము పుచ్చుకొని, మీ మధ్య నివసించెదము, అప్పుడు మనము ఏకజనమగుదుము.
17మీరు మా మాట విని సున్నతి పొందని యెడల మా పిల్లను తీసికొని పోవుదుమని చెప్పగా
