He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

3. 18ఆయనయందు విశ్వాసముంచువానికి తీర్పు తీర్చబడదు; విశ్వసింపనివాడు దేవుని అద్వితీయకుమారుని నామమందు విశ్వాస ముంచలేదు గనుక వానికి ఇంతకు మునుపే తీర్పు తీర్చబడెను.
4. 19ఆ తీర్పు ఇదే; వెలుగు లోకములోనికి వచ్చెను గాని తమ క్రియలు చెడ్డవైనందున మనుష్యులు వెలుగును ప్రేమింపక చీకటినే ప్రేమించిరి.
5. 20దుష్కార్యము చేయు ప్రతివాడు వెలుగును ద్వేషించును, తన క్రియలు దుష్‌క్రియలుగా కనబడకుండునట్లు వెలుగునొద్దకు రాడు.
