That the waters which came down from above stood [and] rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that [is] beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, [even] the salt sea, failed, [and] were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

4. 17జనులు యెరికో యెదుటను దాటగా యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకులు యొర్దానుమధ్య ఆరిన నేలను స్థిర ముగా నిలిచిరి. జనులందరు యొర్దానును దాటుట తుద ముట్టువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు ఆరిన నేలమీద దాటుచు వచ్చిరి.
