10ఉదయమున యెహోషువ వేకువను లేచి జనులను వ్యూహపరచి, తానును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలును జను లకుముందుగా హాయిమీదికి పోయిరి.
11అతని యొద్దనున్న యోధులందరు పోయి సమీపించి ఆ పట్టణము నెదుటికి వచ్చి హాయికి ఉత్తరదిక్కున దిగిరి.

13వారు ఆ జనులను, అనగా పట్టణమునకు ఉత్తర దిక్కుననున్న సమస్త సైన్యమును పట్టణమునకు పడ మటి దిక్కున దాని వెనుకటి భాగమున నున్నవారిని, ఉంచిన తరువాత యెహోషువ ఆ రాత్రి లోయలోనికి దిగి పోయెను.
14హాయి రాజు దాని చూచినప్పుడు అతడును అతని జనులందరును పట్టణస్థులందరును త్వరపడి పెందలకడలేచి మైదానమునెదుట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఎదుర్కొని, తాము అంతకుముందు నిర్ణయించుకొనిన స్థలమున యుద్ధముచేయు టకు బయలుదేరిరి. తన్ను పట్టుకొనుటకు పొంచియున్న వారు పట్టణమునకు పడమటివైపుననుండిన సంగతి అతడు తెలిసికొనలేదు.
