- 13వారు ఆ జనులను, అనగా పట్టణమునకు ఉత్తర దిక్కుననున్న సమస్త సైన్యమును పట్టణమునకు పడ మటి దిక్కున దాని వెనుకటి భాగమున నున్నవారిని, ఉంచిన తరువాత యెహోషువ ఆ రాత్రి లోయలోనికి దిగి పోయెను.
- 14హాయి రాజు దాని చూచినప్పుడు అతడును అతని జనులందరును పట్టణస్థులందరును త్వరపడి పెందలకడలేచి మైదానమునెదుట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఎదుర్కొని, తాము అంతకుముందు నిర్ణయించుకొనిన స్థలమున యుద్ధముచేయు టకు బయలుదేరిరి. తన్ను పట్టుకొనుటకు పొంచియున్న వారు పట్టణమునకు పడమటివైపుననుండిన సంగతి అతడు తెలిసికొనలేదు.
- 15యెహోషువయు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులంద రును వారి యెదుట నిలువలేక ఓడిపోయినవారైనట్టు అరణ్యమార్గముతట్టు పారిపోయినప్పుడు
- 16వారిని ఆతుర ముగా తరుముటకై హాయిలోనున్న జనులందరు కూడుకొని యెహోషువను తరుముచు పట్టణమునకు దూరముగా పోయిరి.
- 17ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను తరుముటకు పోనివాడొక డును హాయిలోనేగాని బేతేలులోనేగాని మిగిలియుండ లేదు. వారు గవిని వేయక పట్టణమును విడిచి ఇశ్రా యేలీయులను తరుమబోయి యుండిరి.
