13ఆయనమీరే వారికి భోజనము పెట్టుడని వారితో చెప్పగా వారుమనయొద్ద అయిదు రొట్టెలును రెండు చేపలును తప్ప మరేమియు లేదు; మేము వెళ్లి యీ ప్రజలందరికొరకు భోజనపదార్థములను కొని తెత్తుమా అని చెప్పిరి.
14వచ్చినవారు ఇంచుమించు అయిదువేల మంది పురుషులు. ఆయనవారిని ఏబదేసిమంది చొప్పున పంక్తులు తీర్చి కూర్చుండబెట్టుడని తన శిష్యులతో చెప్పగా,
15వారాలాగు చేసి అందరిని కూర్చుండబెట్టిరి.
16అంతట ఆయన ఆ అయిదు రొట్టెలను రెండు చేపలను ఎత్తికొని, ఆకాశము వైపు కన్ను లెత్తి వాటిని ఆశీర్వదించి, విరిచి, జనసమూహము నకు వడ్డించుటకై శిష్యులకిచ్చెను.
17వారందరు తిని తృప్తి పొందిన తరువాత మిగిలిన ముక్కలు పండ్రెండు గంపెళ్లెత్తిరి.
