17కావున ఇకను దాని చేయునది నాయందు నివసించు పాపమే గాని నేను కాదు.
18నాయందు, అనగా నా శరీరమందు మంచిది ఏదియు నివసింపదని నేనెరుగుదును. మేలైనది చేయవలెనను కోరిక నాకు కలుగుచున్నది గాని, దానిని చేయుట నాకు కలుగుటలేదు.
19నేను చేయగోరు మేలుచేయక చేయగోరని కీడు చేయుచున్నాను.
20నేను కోరని దానిని చేసినయెడల, దానిని చేయునది నాయందు నివసించు పాపమే గాని యికను నేను కాదు.
21కాబట్టి మేలు చేయగోరు నాకు కీడు చేయుట కలుగుచున్నదను ఒక నియమము నాకు కనబడుచున్నది.
