54पतरस दूर ही दूर से उसके पीछे पीछे महायाजक के आंगन के भीतर तक गया, और प्यादों के साथ बैठ कर आग तापने लगा।
55महायाजक और सारी महासभा यीशु के मार डालने के लिये उसके विरोध में गवाही की खोज में थे, पर न मिली।
56क्योंकि बहुतेरे उसके विरोध में झूठी गवाही दे रहे थे, पर उन की गवाही एक सी न थी।
57तब कितनों ने उठकर उस पर यह झूठी गवाही दी।
58कि हम ने इसे यह कहते सुना है कि मैं इस हाथ के बनाए हुए मन्दिर को ढ़ा दूंगा, और तीन दिन में दूसरा बनाऊंगा, जो हाथ से न बना हो।
