But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that [was] in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

3. 27ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಜೇನು ತೊಟ್ಟಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವು.
4. 28ಆಗ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನುವವನು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಜನರು ದಣಿದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.
5. 29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾ ತಾನನು--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಶ್ರಮೆಪಡಿಸಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವೆಂದು ನೋಡು.
