2. 7ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಫ್ರಯಾಮ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯಾದ ಜಿಕ್ರಿಯು ಅರಸನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯನನ್ನೂ ಅರಮನೆಯ ನಾಯಕನಾದ ಅಜ್ರೀಕಾಮನನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಎರಡನೆಯವನಾದ ಎಲ್ಕಾನನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
3. 8ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಲಕ್ಷ ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೆರೆ ಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಹೋದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಬಹು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದರು.
4. 9ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಇದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಓದೇದನು. ಅವನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಸೈನ್ಯೆಕ್ಕೆದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಗೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿರಲಾಗಿ, ನೀವು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಉಗ್ರದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
5. 10ಈಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ದಾಸರೂ ದಾಸಿಗಳೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದದವರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲವೋ?
