ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅಂದು ನೀವು ಹುಳಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.

- 2ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಡಸರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗರ್ಭ ತೆರೆಯುವ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲಾದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗಾಗಿ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡು; ಅದು ನನ್ನದೇ ಅಂದನು.
- 3ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅಂದು ನೀವು ಹುಳಿ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು.
- 4ಅಬೀಬ್‌ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
- 5ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಹಿವ್ವಿಯರ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರ ಹಾಲೂ ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆ ತಂದಾಗ ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಈ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸ ಬೇಕು.
