1. 25ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸದೆ ಇರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನ ತೊಡೆಯ ಕೀಲನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದನು. ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋರಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ತೊಡೆಯ ಕೀಲು ತಪ್ಪಿತು.
2. 26ಆತನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ--ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು, ನನ್ನನು ಬಿಡು ಅಂದಾಗ ಅವನು--ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸದ ಹೊರತು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡೆನು ಅಂದನು.
3. 27ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಏನು ಅಂದಾಗ ಅವನು--ಯಾಕೋಬ ಅಂದನು.
4. 28ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನುನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡು ವದು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಹೋರಾಡಿ ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದನು.
5. 29ಯಾಕೋಬನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಆತನು--ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು.
