ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತು ಕುರಿ ಪಾರಿವಾಳ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುವವ ರನ್ನೂ ಹಣ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವವರು ಕೂತಿರುವದನೂ ಕಂಡನು;

12ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನೂ ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ಆತನ ಸಹೋದರರೂ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೂ ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ದಿವಸ ಇದ್ದರು.
13ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪಸ್ಕವು ಹತ್ತಿರವಾದಾಗ ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ
14ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತು ಕುರಿ ಪಾರಿವಾಳ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುವವ ರನ್ನೂ ಹಣ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವವರು ಕೂತಿರುವದನೂ ಕಂಡನು;
15ಆಗ ಆತನು ಸಣ್ಣ ಹಗ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಕೊರಡೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕುರಿ ಎತ್ತು ಸಹಿತ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಟ್ಟಿ ಚಿನಿವಾರರ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಜು ಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿದನು.
16ಆತನು ಪಾರಿವಾಳ ಮಾರುವ ವರಿಗೆ--ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ; ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರದ ಮನೆಯ ನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
