1. 20ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ವರೆಗೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರದಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರು ಕೋಟೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದರು.
2. 21ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕೇದದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪಾಳೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಾಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
3. 22ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು--ನೀವು ಗವಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅರಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಗವಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ತನ್ನಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
4. 23ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅರಸರನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಯರ್ಮೂತಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಲಾಕೀಷಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಎಗ್ಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಆ ಗವಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದರು.
5. 24ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಾಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಕರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರಾದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟರು.
