1. 24ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಈ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸತ್ತವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ಈಗ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
2. 25ಆಗ ಹಿರೀಮಗನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಮನೆಯ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ವಾದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ನಾಟ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
3. 26ಅವನು ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಇವುಗಳು ಏನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
4. 27ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸೌಖ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
5. 28ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
