ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸುಂಕದವರೂ ಪಾಪಿಗಳೂ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವದ ಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆತನ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳು--ಇವನು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಗುಣುಗುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ದನು--
And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನಗೆ ನೂರು ಕುರಿಗಳಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದು ಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವನು ತೊಂಭತ್ತೊಂಭತ್ತನ್ನು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕಳೆದುಹೋದದ್ದು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗದಿರುವನೇ?
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
ಅವನು ಆ ಕುರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
And when he hath found [it], he layeth [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.
ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನೂ ನೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ;ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ನನ್ನ ಕುರಿಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡು ಕೊಂಡೆನು ಅನ್ನುವನು.
And when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
ಆದರಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾನಸಾಂತ ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ತೊಂಭತ್ತೊಂಭತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗಿಂತ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬಪಾಪಿಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗುವದೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
ಯಾವ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳಿರಲಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ನಾಣ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ದೀಪಹಚ್ಚಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಗುಡಿಸಿ ಅವಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಹುಡುಕುವ ದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find [it]?
ಅವಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನೂ ನೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂ ದರೆ ನಾನು ಕಳಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ನಾಣ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡೆನು ಅನ್ನುವಳು.
And when she hath found [it], she calleth [her] friends and [her] neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಡುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾಪಿಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ದೇವದೂತರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗುವದೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
ಆತನು--ಒಬ್ಬಾನೊಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕುಮಾರರಿದ್ದರು.
And he said, A certain man had two sons:
ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರಿಯವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಆಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ಅಂದನು; ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸಿದನು.
And the younger of them said to [his] father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth [to me]. And he divided unto them [his] living.
ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರೀ ಮಗನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ದೂರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದುಂದುಗಾರನಾಗಿ ಜೀವಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ವೆಚ್ಚ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಘೋರವಾದ ಬರ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ಕೊರತೆ ಪಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
ಆಗ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಕೊಂಡನು; ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹಂದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.ಅವನು ಹಂದಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೊಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಲಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
ಅವನು ಹಂದಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೊಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಲಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ದಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು--ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುವಷ್ಟು ಆಹಾರವಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ! ನಾನಾದರೋ ಹಸಿವೆಯಿಂದ ಸಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
ನಾನು ಎದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ;
I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಂತೆ ಮಾಡು ಅನ್ನುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು
And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಹಳ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಬಂದು ಅವನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು.
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
ಮಗನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ನಾನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ಇವನಿಗೆ ತೊಡಿಸಿರಿ; ಇವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಉಂಗುರವನ್ನೂ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೆರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಕಿರಿ;
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put [it] on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on [his] feet:
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಆ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದು ವಧಿಸಿರಿ; ನಾವು ಉಂಡು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡೋಣ;
And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill [it]; and let us eat, and be merry:
ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಈ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸತ್ತವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ಈಗ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
ಆಗ ಹಿರೀಮಗನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಮನೆಯ ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ವಾದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ನಾಟ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
ಅವನು ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಇವುಗಳು ಏನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಸೌಖ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಇಷ್ಟು ವರುಷಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಯನ್ನು ಎಂದಾದರೂ ವಿಾರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀನ
And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಸೂಳೆಯ ರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಕರುವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೊಯ್ಸಿದ್ದೀ ಅಂದನು.
But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದೀ, ನನಗಿರುವ ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನದೇ.ಆದರೆ ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಸತ್ತವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾವು ಸಂತೋ ಷಿಸಿ ಆನಂದಪಡುವದು ಯುಕ್ತವಾದದ್ದೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು ಅಂದನು.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
ಆದರೆ ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಸತ್ತವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾವು ಸಂತೋ ಷಿಸಿ ಆನಂದಪಡುವದು ಯುಕ್ತವಾದದ್ದೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು ಅಂದನು.
It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
