3. 40ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ನಕ್ಕರು. ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಒಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಮಲಗಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
4. 41ಮತ್ತು ಆತನು ಆ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು ಆಕೆಗೆ --ತಲಿಥಾ ಕೂಮ್‌ ಅಂದನು. ಹುಡುಗಿಯೇ, ಎದ್ದೇಳು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದರ್ಥ.
5. 42ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರುಷದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಎದ್ದು ನಡೆದಾಡಿದಳು; ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ದಿಂದ ಬೆರಗಾದರು.ಇದು ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯಬಾರದೆಂದು ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತ ವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
