1. 8ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಿಂದು ತೃಪ್ತರಾ ದರು; ಮುರಿದ ಮಿಕ್ಕತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಏಳು ಪುಟ್ಟಿ ತುಂಬಿದರು.
2. 9ಊಟಮಾಡಿದವರು ಸುಮಾರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ; ಆತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
3. 10ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದಲ್ಮನೂಥ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
4. 11ಆಗ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಬಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸೂಚಕ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
5. 12ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರುಬಿಟ್ಟು--ಈ ಸಂತ ತಿಯು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವದು ಯಾಕೆ? ಈ ಸಂತತಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡು ವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
