1. 11അവനെ മുമ്പെ അറിഞ്ഞവർ ഒക്കെയും അവൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: കീശിന്റെ മകന്നു എന്തു സംഭവിച്ചു? ശൗലും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആയോ എന്നു ജനം തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
2. 12അതിന്നു അവിടത്തുകാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: ആരാകുന്നു അവരുടെ ഗുരുനാഥൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആകയാൽ ശൗലും ഉണ്ടോ പ്രവാചകഗണത്തിൽ എന്നുള്ളതു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലായി തീർന്നു.
3. 13അവൻ പ്രവചിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഗിബെയയിൽ എത്തി.
4. 14ശൗലിന്റെ ഇളയപ്പൻ അവനോടും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യനോടും: നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ പോയിരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കഴുതകളെ തിരയുവാൻ പോയിരുന്നു; അവയെ കാണായ്കയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 15ശമൂവേൽ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നെ അറിയിക്കേണം എന്നു ശൗലിന്റെ ഇളയപ്പൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
