പിന്നെ യിശ്ശായി അബീനാദാബിനെ വിളിച്ചു ശമൂവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വരുത്തി; എന്നാറെ അവൻ: യഹോവ ഇവനെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

- 10അങ്ങനെ യിശ്ശായി ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വരുത്തി; എന്നാൽ ശമൂവേൽ യിശ്ശായിയോടു: യഹോവ ഇവരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
