അവന്നു മുപ്പതു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ മുപ്പതു പുത്രിമാരെ കെട്ടിച്ചയക്കയും തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർക്കു മുപ്പതു കന്യകമാരെകൊണ്ടുവരികയും ചെയ്തു. അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ന്യായാധിപനായിരുന്നു.
