എന്നാൽ ദാൻഗോത്രത്തിൽ ഉള്ളവനായി സോരാഥ്യനായ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്നു മാനോഹ എന്നു പേർ; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ മച്ചിയായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പ്രസവിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.

- 3ആ സ്ത്രീക്കു യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ മച്ചിയല്ലോ, പ്രസവിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല; എങ്കിലും നീ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും.
- 4ആകയാൽ നീ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക, വീഞ്ഞും മദ്യവും കുടിക്കരുതു; അശുദ്ധമായതൊന്നും തിന്നുകയുമരുതു.
