10അത്രയുമല്ല, റിബെക്കയും നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്ക് എന്ന ഏകനാൽ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു,
11കുട്ടികൾ ജനിക്കയോ ഗുണമാകട്ടെ ദോഷമാകട്ടെ ഒന്നും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുംമുമ്പേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൻ പ്രകാരമുള്ള ദൈവനിർണ്ണയം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ നിമിത്തമല്ല വിളിച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നിമിത്തം തന്നേ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു:
12“മൂത്തവൻ ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും” എന്നു അവളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
13“ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു ഏശാവിനെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
