ஆண்டவரே, கிருபை காட்டும்; உம் திருப்பாதமே எனக்கு ஆதாரம்.

He asks the Master to turn again and show him kindness, and says he has bowed down at the Lord's holy feet.

நாதா, மீண்டும் என்மேல் இரக்கம் காட்டும்; உம் பாதத்தில் பணிந்தேன்.

verse

The singer confesses he was formed in wickedness, became a sinner and a friend of the devil, with no goodness in himself and headed for eternal death and hell. He calls on the good, loving and merciful God, saying he has clung to Him and asking to be held and protected.

பாவியாய் நரகத்துக்கு உள்ளான நான் இரக்கமுள்ள தேவனைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டேன்; என்னைக் காத்தருளும்.

verse

He admits his heart is a spring of sin, flowing out through his ears, mouth, eyes, feet and hands, and that pain has gripped him while the world's comfort is false. As a weeping child of Eve, he pleads with the Lord to see him and lift him out of the mire of sin.

He says he has fallen under the curse, hearing the thunder of Sinai and seeing the fire of God's anger, and is troubled by God's displeasure, recalling the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai. Yet he calls the Lord his refuge in danger, for his poor heart has nowhere else to run.

verse

The singer reminds the Lord that He suffered for him and died so that he would not have to die, and asks whether evil should remain in him or whether the Lord would refuse to hear him. He recalls that the Lord suffered openly, gave His life, and went to prepare a dwelling for those who trust Him.
