అయితే యరొబాము అను ఇతడు మహా బలాఢ్యుడైయుండగా ¸యౌవనుడగు ఇతడు పనియందు శ్రద్ధగలవాడని సొలొమోను తెలిసికొని, యోసేపు సంతతివారు చేయవలసిన భారమైన పనిమీద అతనిని అధికారిగా నిర్ణయించెను.

- 29అంతట యరొబాము యెరూషలేములోనుండి బయలు వెడలిపోగా షిలోనీయు డును ప్రవక్తయునగు అహీయా అతనిని మార్గమందు కను గొనెను; అహీయా క్రొత్తవస్త్రము ధరించుకొని యుండెను, వారిద్దరు తప్ప పొలములో మరి యెవడును లేకపోయెను.
- 30అంతట అహీయా తాను ధరించుకొని యున్న క్రొత్త వస్త్రమును పట్టుకొని పండ్రెండు తునకలుగా చింపి యరొబాముతో ఇట్లనెనుఈ పది తునకలను నీవు తీసికొనుము;
