14ఏలీ ఆ కేకలు వినిఈ గల్లత్తు యేమని అడుగగా ఆ మనుష్యుడు త్వరగా వచ్చి ఏలీతో సంగతి తెలియచెప్పెను.
15ఏలీ తొంబది యెనిమిదేండ్లవాడై యుండెను. అతనికి దృష్టి మందగిలినందున అతని కండ్లు కానరాకుండెను.
16ఆ మనుష్యుడుయుద్ధములోనుండి వచ్చినవాడను నేనే, నేడు యుద్ధములోనుండి పరుగెత్తి వచ్చితినని ఏలీతో అనగా అతడునాయనా, అక్కడ ఏమి జరిగెనని అడిగెను.
17అందుకు అతడుఇశ్రాయేలీ యులు ఫిలిష్తీయులముందర నిలువలేక పారిపోయిరి; జను లలో అనేకులు హతులైరి; హొఫ్నీ ఫీనెహాసు అను నీ యిద్దరు కుమారులు మృతులైరి; మరియు దేవుని మందసము పట్టబడెను అని చెప్పెను
