2. 2వారిపైన ముగ్గురిని ప్రధానులగా నియమించెను; ఆ ముగ్గురిలో దానియేలు ముఖ్యుడు. రాజునకు నష్టము కలుగకుండునట్లు ఆ యధిపతులు తప్ప కుండ వీరికి లెక్కలు ఒప్పజెప్పవలెనని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.
3. 3ఈ దానియేలు అతిశ్రేష్ఠమైన బుద్ధిగలవాడై ప్రధానుల లోను అధిపతులలోను ప్రఖ్యాతి నొందియుండెను గనుక రాజ్యమంతటిమీద అతని నియమింపవలెనని రాజుద్దే శించెను.
4. 4అందుకా ప్రధానులును అధిపతులును రాజ్య పాలన విషయములో దానియేలుమీద ఏదైన ఒక నింద మోపవలెనని యుండి తగిన హేతువు కనిపెట్టుచుండిరి గాని దానియేలు నమ్మకస్థుడై యే నేరమైనను ఏ తప్పయినను చేయువాడు కాడు గనుక దానియేలులో తప్పయి నను లోపమైనను కనుగొనలేకపోయిరి.
5. 5అందుకా మనుష్యులు అతని దేవుని పద్ధతి విషయమందేగాని మరి ఏ విషయమందును అతనిలో లోపము కనుగొన లేమను కొనిరి.
