39గాలు షెకెము యజ మానుల ముందర బయలుదేరి అబీమెలెకుతో యుద్ధము చేసెను.
40అబీమెలెకు అతని తరుమగా అతడు అతని యెదుట నిలువలేక పారిపోయెను. అనేకులు గాయపడి పట్టణపు గవిని ప్రవేశించు చోట పడిరి.
41అప్పుడు అబీ మెలెకు అరూమాలో దిగెను, గాలును అతని బంధువులును షెకెములో నివసింపకుండ జెబులు వారిని తోలివేసెను.
42మరునాడు జనులు పొలములలోనికి బయలువెళ్లిరి.
43అది అబీమెలెకునకు తెలియబడగా అతడు తన జనులను తీసికొని మూడు తెగలుగా చేయగా వారు ఆ పొలములో మాటుగా ఉండిరి; అప్పుడతడు చూడగా జనులు పట్టణము నుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చుచుండిరి గనుక అతడు వారిమీద పడి వారిని హతముచేసెను.
