యెహోవా ఇల్లు కట్టించనియెడల దాని కట్టువారి ప్రయాసము వ్యర్థమే. యెహోవా పట్టణమును కాపాడనియెడల దాని కావలికాయువారు మేలుకొని యుండుటవ్యర్థమే.
A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.
మీరువేకువనే లేచి చాలరాత్రియైన తరువాత పండు కొనుచు కష్టార్జితమైన ఆహారము తినుచునుండుట వ్యర్థమే. తన ప్రియులు నిద్రించుచుండగా ఆయన వారి కిచ్చు చున్నాడు.
[It is] vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: [for] so he giveth his beloved sleep.
కుమారులు యెహోవా అనుగ్రహించు స్వాస్థ్యము గర్భఫలము ఆయన యిచ్చు బహుమానమే
Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.
యౌవనకాలమందు పుట్టిన కుమారులు బలవంతుని చేతిలోని బాణములవంటివారు.
As arrows [are] in the hand of a mighty man; so [are] children of the youth.
వారితో తన అంబులపొది నింపుకొనినవాడు ధన్యుడు అట్టివారు సిగ్గుపడక గుమ్మములో తమ విరోధులతో వాదించుదురు.
Happy [is] the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
