यदि किसी पुरूष के सौ पुत्रा हों, और वह बहुत वर्ष जीवित रहे और उसकी आयु बढ़ जाए, परन्तु न उसको प्राण प्रसन्न रहे और न उसकी अन्तिम क्रिया की जाए, तो मैं कहता हूं कि ऐसे मनुष्य से अधूरे समय का जन्मा हुआ बच्चा उत्तम है।

Yadi kisee puroosh ke sau putraa hom, aur vah bahut varsh jeevit rahe aur usakee aayu badh jaae, parantu na usako praan prasann rahe aur na usakee antim kriyaa kee jaae, to maim kahataa hoom ki aise manushy se adhoore samay kaa janmaa huaa bachchaa uttam hai.

King James Version (KJV): If a man beget an hundred [children], and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also [that] he have no burial; I say, [that] an untimely birth [is] better than he.
World English Bible (WEB): If a man fathers a hundred children, and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not filled with good, and moreover he has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better than he;

5और न सूर्य को देखा, न किसी चीज को जानने पाया; तौीाी इसको उस मनुष्य से अधिक चैन मिला।
