2. 5ಆಗ ಕೆಲವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸೇವ ಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡಗಳು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರ್ರಿ; ಆಮೇಲೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3. 6ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು, ತಾವು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯರಾ ದೆವೆಂದು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಹಾನೂನನೂ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ ಅರಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅರಾಮ್‌ ಮಾಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಚೋಬಾದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ರಾಹುತರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ತಲಾಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
4. 7ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಕದ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಇವರು ಬಂದು ಮೇದೆಬ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋ ನಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಯುದ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
5. 8ದಾವೀದನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾ ಬನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
