ಇಗೋ, ಉಣ್ಣೆಯ ಗುಜ್ಜನ್ನು ಕಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕುವೆನು. ಮಂಜು ಉಣ್ಣೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಇದ್ದು ಭೂಮಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಣಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವಿ ಎಂಬದನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿಯುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

- 39ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಪವು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಯಬಾರದು. ಉಣ್ಣೆ ಯಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಾರಿ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸು ವೆನು. ಉಣ್ಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಒಣಗುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಂಜು ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಆಗಲಿ ಅಂದನು.ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದೇವರು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಉಣ್ಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಒಣಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಂಜು ಇತ್ತು.
