సౌలు దావీదు ఫిలిష్తీయునికి ఎదురుగా పోవుట చూచినప్పుడు తన సైన్యాధిపతియైన అబ్నేరును పిలిచి అబ్నేరూ, ఈ ¸యౌవనుడు ఎవని కుమారుడని అడుగగా అబ్నేరురాజా, నీ ప్రాణముతోడు నాకు తెలియదనెను.

- 57దావీదు ఫిలిష్తీయుని చంపి తిరిగి వచ్చినప్పుడు అబ్నేరు అతని పిలుచుకొనిపోయి ఫిలిష్తీయుని తల చేతనుండగా అతని సౌలు దగ్గరకు తోడుకొనివచ్చెను.
