2. 26శతాధిపతి ఆ మాట విని సహస్రాధిపతి యొద్దకు వచ్చి నీవేమి చేయబోవుచున్నావు? ఈ మనుష్యుడు రోమీయుడు సుమీ అనెను.
3. 27అప్పుడు సహస్రాధిపతి వచ్చి అతనిని చూచినీవు రోమీయుడవా? అది నాతో చెప్పు మనగా
4. 28అతడు అవునని చెప్పెను. సహస్రాధిపతి నేను బహు ద్రవ్యమిచ్చి యీ పౌరత్వము సంపాదించు కొంటిననెను; అందుకు పౌలునేనైతే పుట్టుకతోనే రోమీయుడ ననెను.
5. 29కాబట్టి అతని విమర్శింపబోయిన వారు వెంటనే అతనిని విడిచిపెట్టిరి. మరియు అతడు రోమీయుడని తెలిసికొన్నప్పుడు అతని బంధించినందుకు సహస్రాధిపతికూడ భయపడెను.
