12శిష్యులు ప్రభువా, అతడు నిద్రించినయెడల బాగుపడుననిరి.
13యేసు అతని మరణమునుగూర్చి ఆ మాట చెప్పెను గాని వారు ఆయన నిద్ర విశ్రాంతిని గూర్చి చెప్పెననుకొనిరి.
14కావున యేసు లాజరు చనిపోయెను,
15మీరు నమ్మునట్లు నేనక్కడ ఉండలేదని మీ నిమిత్తము సంతోషించుచున్నాను; అయినను అతనియొద్దకు మనము వెళ్లుదము రండని స్పష్టముగా వారితో చెప్పెను.
16అందుకు దిదుమ అనబడిన తోమా ఆయనతో కూడ చనిపోవుటకు మనమును వెళ్లుదమని తనతోడి శిష్యులతో చెప్పెను.
