Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce [it] right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

3. 6అందుకతడునేను కాను అనినయెడల వారు అతని చూచిషిబ్బోలెతను శబ్దము పలుకుమనిరి. అతడు అట్లు పలుకనేరక సిబ్బోలెతని పలుకగా వారు అతని పట్టుకొని యొర్దానురేవులయొద్ద చంపిరి. ఆ కాలమున ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులలో నలువది రెండువేలమంది పడి పోయిరి.
4. 7యెఫ్తా ఆరు సంవత్సరములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయాధిపతియై యుండెను. గిలాదువాడైన యెఫ్తా చనిపోయి గిలాదు పట్టణములలో నొకదానియందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను.
5. 8అతని తరువాత బేత్లెహేమువాడైన ఇబ్సాను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.
