1ఒక విశ్రాంతిదినమున ఆయన పంటచేలలోబడి వెళ్లు చుండగా, ఆయన శిష్యులు వెన్నులు త్రుంచి, చేతులతో నలుపుకొని, తినుచుండిరి.
2అప్పుడు పరిసయ్యులలో కొందరు విశ్రాంతిదినమున చేయదగనిది మీరెందుకు చేయుచున్నారని వారినడుగగా
3యేసు వారితో ఇట్లనెను తానును తనతో కూడ ఉన్నవారును ఆకలిగొని నప్పుడు దావీదు ఏమిచేసెనో అదియైనను మీరు చదువ లేదా?
4అతడు దేవుని మందిరములో ప్రవేశించి, యాజకులు తప్ప మరి ఎవరును తినకూడని సముఖపు రొట్టెలు తీసికొని తిని, తనతో కూడ ఉన్నవారికిని ఇచ్చెను గదా అనెను.
5కాగా మనుష్యకుమారుడు విశ్రాంతిదినమునకును యజమానుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.
